My Family Court experience began in 2014 and now underpins my work as a McKenzie Friend. Since then I’ve been involved in child arrangements and other family law matters, including later divorce proceedings, working both with solicitors and representing myself, which has given me a practical understanding of the system and the pressures parents face when navigating it alone.
In 2022 I appealed as a litigant in person and had a judge’s decision overturned where the other party was legally represented, showing how preparation, clear evidence and calm communication can influence outcomes.
I have a background in multidisciplinary design, including children’s rights design; I contributed internationally to the Designing for Children’s Rights guide and hold a PGCert in Advanced Child Protection, which taught me to see cases through the child’s lens and to understand how wider systems and processes affect the choices families make.
I now draw on my lived experience, academic knowledge and professional expertise to support families through Family Court with clear, structured, child-focused guidance.
