I’m Marie Peters, I have been a qualified social worker for over 20 years. For the duration of that time my focus has been within Child Protection, initially as a social worker and as a senior manager for a safeguarding service for the local authority. This means I have a wide knowledge of the family court and how it works. Given my experience base I maintain a strong child focus.

My considerable knowledge of the statutory process means I have a real insight into the impact of the family courts to all of those involved, as such my ethos is to assist in supporting individuals through the process with a view to minimise the impact of what can be a frightening process.

During my years of working for the local authority I routinely produced statements for the courts, liaised with solicitors and of course Cafcass. This will assist me in helping you understand the process.

I have always been acutely aware of the jargon within the Family Court, as my client I would support you to break down the terminology used, making it easier to understand and as such less overwhelming. It is important that you are able to fully understand the process to help you keep a clear head.
